Academic Enrichment Program

Academic Enrichment Services
Combining Highbridge Voices’ mission to “inspire excellence” with academic enrichment, the academic program goes beyond the bounds of traditional classroom teaching. At Highbridge Voices, students receive both group and individualized academic support to help them be successful students and engaged learners. From tutoring to homework help, Highbridge Voices prioritizes supporting our students in enhancing their academic enrichment.

FORDHAM UNIVERSITY:
In partnership with Fordham University, our students receive the following academic enrichment services:

Tutoring
Offsite and Onsite (if needed) tutoring is available for any student in need of assistance or enrichment. During tutoring sessions, students learn and review content and develop effective studying and test-taking strategies. Our students focus on math, reading, science, social studies, and writing skills in tutoring. Students can spend up to 4 hours each week in tutoring.

STEAM
Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) is a part of the Highbridge Voices curriculum for 2nd -12th-grade students. STEAM is a way to take the benefits of STEM and complete the package by integrating these principles into and through the arts.  STEAM takes STEM to the next level: it allows students to connect their learning in these critical areas together with arts practices, elements, design principles, and standards to provide the whole pallet of learning at their disposal.  STEAM removes limitations and replaces them with wonder, critique, inquiry, and innovation. In STEAM class, students have created air purifiers, learned about and did assessments on the air quality in the Bronx, and visited the NYBG to see the train show and learn about how it was engineered as well as the plants in the exhibition.
